She stood there, solid, braced against anything and everything. In the space around her, massive oaks whipped from side to side in the force of the wind. The solid trees bending like so many rubber bands snapping back. In th glow of a street lamp, the heavy drops of rain shone, a steady stream beating down to the earth. There she stood. Feet rooted in the grass, with an upturned face bearing the force of the droplets. Eyes closed, she felt, rather than saw, the strength of the rain, the ferocity of thunder and lighting bending everything around her. She was in a bubble. Drenched with falling water, shivering with cold, yet untouchable. Her legs stood solid, back arched with strong arms out behind her. The very picture of someone unplacable, truly in their element.

Oblivious of the treees shivering beside her, of the muddy rivulets at her feet, of any bystanders, she stood. Eyes closed, face up. And through this, even her brain was silent. A peace was reached. With the weighty rain, a storm building around her, she was in herself, a complete sense of oneness within her. A moment of nothing but peace. Emptiness. Silence. Nothing but the rumbles of thunder and the steady tapping as each raindrop reached its mark. This moment, is what she'd been living for.
